Friends of BLS Statement on the Confirmation of Brett Matsumoto as Commissioner of the Bureau of Labor Statistics

Washington, D.C. — Friends of the Bureau of Labor Statistics (FoBLS) welcomes the confirmation of Brett Matsumoto to serve as the 17th Commissioner of the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS). Matsumoto brings extensive institutional knowledge from his career within BLS, where he has contributed to core statistical programs, including price measurement and labor‑market indicators.
